Life in Lyrics

Ok, Just a short one tonight folks

I often think of the songs I would use if I had to compile a soundtrack of my life. Here is my present Top 10. I also given reasons why too…does it make you think of yours?

1, Money For Nothing (Dire Straits) - always on in my dads car

2, We Are The Champions - (Queen) - Live Aid, 1985, sitting with my mum and dad watching
Freddie Mercury and being completely mesmerised. It was also the day I first saw U2 and fell
    in love with Bono

3, When Will I Be Famous (Bros) Matt Goss was my first crush

4, Baby I don't Care - (Transvision Vamp) We used to request it at every school disco and shout
the chorus so much we'd end up with sore throats

5, Time of Your Life (Greenday) - Played it to my brother Adam when he went to live in America

6, Tiny Dancer (Elton John) - Heard it after my mum died and it just makes me think of her

7, Sing it Back To Me (Moloko) - Rick introduced me to the clubbing world and I had a very
good time dancing to this track

8, I Try (Macy Gray) - One of mine and Rick's first "songs"

9, Fairytale of New York (The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl) - Doesn't need to be chritsmas for me to play this. Kirsty MacColl had such a beautiful voice

10, Fix You (Coldplay) - When I was pregnant I would play this to the twins

There are so many more songs but these mean the most I guess

Now, below are some new pics of the kids and alongside them I've thought of some songs that sum up my thoughts and feelings for them and my family.

Close your eyes
Have no fear
The monster's gone
He's on the run and your daddy's here

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way
It's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Out on the ocean sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But I guess we'll both just have to be patient
Cause it's a long way to go
A hard row to hoe
Yes it's a long way to go
But in the meantime

Before you cross the street
Take my hand
Life is what happens to you
While you're busy making other plans

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

I've got sunshine on a cloudy day.
When it's cold outside,
I've got the month of May.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)

I've got so much honey
The bees envy me.
I've got a sweeter song
Than the birds in the trees.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl. (My girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl. (My girl)

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
